AfterBurner game - prototyping in Unity3D

I used to dream of becoming a game developer. My earliest steps in programming, when I was still learning at school, were around game development. Funny thing - I did not have a PC at home because my family could not afford to buy it. But I somehow managed to collect money for a few books around GameDev. Those were Jesse Liberty’s “Teach Yourself C++ in 21 Days”, 2 from Andre LaMothe “Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus”, “Advanced 3D Graphics and Rasterization” and something about DirectX 8. All my friends thought that I went nuts reading the books without actually having my own PC.

Later, life has forced me to focus on Web Development. As a result, I completely forgot about my first tech passion until recently. I had a couple of free days and made a silly game in Unity3D with some C# and free assets.

Behold! AfterBurner

For better or for worse, it’s a final “release” of the game because Unity has wiped out my project folder upon Unity Hub update 🤦‍♂️.
Folks who made the graphical assets for asteroids, spaceship, explosion effects and music, thanks to you, I had so much fun prototyping.
The only graphical asset that I made is the Alien ship.
